Healthcare Operations Dashboard
A regional hospital network with 4 hospitals and 30 clinics had no unified view of operations. Patient intake, bed management, staff scheduling and equipment tracking each ran on separate systems that didn't talk to each other. Administrators spent hours every Monday pulling reports from four different databases, manually reconciling numbers in Excel. During peak flu season, the ER wait times were unpredictable and the hospital couldn't identify which bottlenecks were causing the longest delays.

Challenge
A regional hospital network with 4 hospitals and 30 clinics had no unified view of operations. Patient intake, bed management, staff scheduling and equipment tracking each ran on separate systems that didn't talk to each other. Administrators spent hours every Monday pulling reports from four different databases, manually reconciling numbers in Excel. During peak flu season, the ER wait times were unpredictable and the hospital couldn't identify which bottlenecks were causing the longest delays.
Solution
We created a secure, HIPAA-compliant analytics platform that connected to the hospital's existing EHR, scheduling, billing and facilities systems via HL7 FHIR APIs and direct database connections. The platform normalized data from all sources into a unified operational data model and presented real-time dashboards for each department. We built an AI-powered anomaly detection system that alerted administrators when ER wait times, bed occupancy rates or staffing levels deviated from expected patterns. The system also generated automated compliance reports for CMS and Joint Commission requirements, reducing a weekly 4-hour manual process to a 5-minute review.
Outcome
ER wait times decreased by 34% after the hospital identified and resolved two recurring bottlenecks. Bed turnover time dropped from 4.2 hours to 2.8 hours. The Monday morning reporting ritual that took 6 staff-hours per week was eliminated entirely. The platform received positive feedback from 90% of clinical staff in a post-deployment survey. The hospital network has since expanded the platform to two additional facilities.
